Chevron Energy Solutions Receives Green Business Award
SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, 2009 —
Chevron Energy Solutions, a unit of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX), has received the San Francisco Business Times’ 2009 Green Business Award in the “Best Green Service” category. The company was recognized for developing innovative, sustainable projects that provide energy and cost savings through energy-efficient facility improvements, conservation and renewable power projects for public institutions and businesses.

The San Francisco Business Times received nearly 200 nominations for this year’s Green Business Awards. A panel of San Francisco Bay Area experts in clean technology and sustainable business practices reviewed the nominations and selected a winner for each of 14 categories based on their demonstrated commitment to clean technologies and sustainable business practices.

Since 2000, Chevron Energy Solutions has developed hundreds of projects across the country and become the largest installer of solar power for education institutions in North America. The company’s projects have saved customers an average of nearly 30 percent in energy costs and a total of more than $1 billion to date. These projects are also reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 3 million metric tons.
